Questions. Questions. Questions. You have got to love the intricacy, suspense, curiosity, and anxiety that bring in. But that same level of curiosity, anxiety, suspense, and intricacy that these unanswered questions bring is what makes us hate them so much at the same time as well. They’re like a cliffhanger. What I mean by that is, it is not always that you see a question visibly right there to be answered. The majority of them form in our heads. It happens so often while watching a show or a movie that you suddenly question something that just happened, and there is no proper answer for it. You just have to come up with them and that’s where the curiosity kills the cat because you would never know whether your assumption is correct or not. Alright alright, I will stop playing with your heads.
But, have you ever wondered what would have happened if the sorting hat put Harry in Slytherin? Or what if the time machine had failed and Marty could never go back in time? Or how did Brutus get all those scars? Okay, I can help you a little with all this anxiety and curiosity I have just given birth to.
That last question, and a very huge question which is how did Brutus get all those scars, has been *drum rolls please* revealed…Yes, you read that right. The creator of the famous webcomic series ‘Pixie and Brutus’ has revealed how Brutus got all his scars. And trust me, you won’t able to hold your tears back so go into this at your own risk and with a very very heavy heart. But before we get to the revelation, for those who don’t know about Pixie and Brutus, it an adventure was written by Ben Hed, that follows a joyful cute kitten, Pixie, and her large scared German Shepherd companion doggo, Brutus. An adorable relationships forms as we move through their journey.
According to Ben, this comic was definitely not an easy one to make. Here’s what he had to say about it in an interview with the Bored Panda, “This comic took longer than any other comic I’ve posted to Instagram, partially because of the length and detail, and partially because of the amount of research I put into it before drawing anything, I’d say this was the most important and serious comic in the Pixie and Brutus series, so I took my time with it to make sure I got it right.”

9. No pain could stop Brutus from achieving what he had his eyes set at. He got the bad guys successfully.

11. Poor Sergio didn’t make it. The brave boy took a lot from that mission that day. Memories of Sergio and scars of his bravery to be remembered forever.

14. It does, Brutus…It does…
It’s one of those moments where you realize you shouldn’t have insisted. Because sometimes realities get too much to handle, sometimes impossible to handle. And I believe this is exactly what just happened for all of us. I don’t know about you guys but I was definitely not prepared for this one. Let’s be honest here. We knew that it was gonna be something along these lines because obviously scars and Brutus, you could get a hint. But even after mustering up all that energy, I was never ready for this revelation. What a brave doggo for going through all that, and never losing a glimmer of hope.
But to a surprise, Ben received a lot of criticism. Yes! Some people were not happy with the way things were portrayed. Ben took it to Instagram to explain that a lot of research went behind this and that yes he did follow all the criticism point by point before making the major decisions. Pet Foolery, Ben’s Instagram account, has over 2.5 million followers so any criticism or any responses to that criticism were to be loudly heard by the internet. Ben had also received some criticism regarding some tweaks that he made to his characters. The main criticism came from the fact that he made Pixie slightly older in some of his comics. But he was very open to say that it’s the same old Pixie and same ol’ brave Brutus. His thought process behind the change was to keep everything fresh and lively. Which we totally back. It’s his characters, and he obviously knows the importance associated with them. So no way in hell would he want to ruin all of that built legacy.
Ben also has a comic, which was published before this one, which shows how Brutus changed over time. Get ready for another roller coaster ride.

4. Yes, it hurt him a lot. And gave him the famous ‘scars’.

Ben suggested that there is no shame in being flexible and open when you come at a roadblock. It is always good to experiment with characters. Come up with new ideas, concepts, try new things but make sure to never stop. This roadblock thing is a true factor and a very important point that Ben brought up. In today’s world, as the market gets more and more saturated with ideas being thrown in left, right, and centre, it is getting harder for artists to create new stuff. I would never want all this stuff to die. And from what it looks like, our creative artist Ben has been doing a great job with it. Good luck to him and all the artists.
