2. Ren\u00e9 Lacoste, the famous tennis player, is the inventor of the famous brand Lacoste.<\/h2>\n

Do you know why the crocodile logo was used? Ren\u00e9 Lacoste was given the nickname “the alligator” by a journalist after he heard Ren\u00e9 Lacoste betting with his coach over an alligator-skin suitcase. Later, a friend of Ren\u00e9 Lacoste embroidered a crocodile into one of his white jackets. This was when Lacoste was invented.<\/p>\n

3. IKEA was invented by Ingvar Kamprad. He has used the initials of his name. The first letter of the farm where he grew up, Elmtaryd. And, the initial of the town where he grew up, was Agunnaryd.<\/h2>\n

4. Aston Martin was invented in 1913. Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford were passionate about designing and manufacturing automobiles. So, they invented Aston Martin.<\/h2>\n

The thought behind this name is interesting. Lionel Martin once won the \u201cAston Clinton Hill Climb.\u201d They used the name of the race he won and his surname and created the brand name.<\/p>\n

5. Thomas Johnston Lipton had a tea business in 1887. His last name was used as the brand name.<\/h2>\n

6. Ben & Jerry’s was founded in 1978 by Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield.<\/h2>\n

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield met in seventh grade gym class on Long Island. They spent $12,000 and set up a shop in a renovated gas station in Burlington which then converted into business.<\/p>\n

7. They are called Air Jordan because Micheal Jordan collaborated with Nike on this new range of shoes.<\/h2>\n

It was not easy for Micheal Jordan and Nike to market the new “Air Jordan” because basketball players were required to only wear white sneakers on the court. Nike paid the punishment of $5,000 every time Micheal Jordan played a game wearing them. The marketing campaign went successful and the first $50,000 pairs were sold out quickly.<\/p>\n

8. Adi Dassler started making shoes for athletes in his mother’s washroom in Germany. He invented \u201cGebr\u00fcder Dassler Schuhfabrik\u201d in 1924. In 1954, Germany won wearing the shoes gifted by Adi Dassler and the brand got famous.<\/h2>\n

9. Mercedez-Benz was invented by Emil Jellinek and Karl Benz. The brand \u201cMercedes\u201d was named after Jellinek\u2019s daughter.<\/h2>\n
