Whether it’s a busy road or not, the majority of people prefer to keep their dogs on a leash whenever they take them for a stroll on the road. And it is logical. It’s simply not a good idea to let your dog wander aimlessly down the street without equipping them with something that will let you to control them in case of emergency. It’s risky and might get you and your dog into a lot of trouble. Some people still teach their dogs to walk off-leash on public streets, though. However, most dog owners ensure that their dogs have almost perfect off-leash training and recall skills before allowing them to drive themselves.

This makes sure that even without the leash, they still have a method to check on their dogs. Unfortunately, some people, like the mother of Redditor itis time to disappear, do not get the nuances of walking dogs off-leash. Although it’s clear that their dogs’ off-lead training isn’t flawless, OP’s mother enjoys pushing the dogs’ limits, and occasionally, she goes a little too far. The worst part is that even after OP corrects her, she still doesn’t seem to understand. OP is now considering whether she is the one who is at fault. Here is the complete narrative.

""

And it appears that the dangers are so worthwhile.

""

The unofficial training the dogs receive from her mother, though, seems to be taken for granted.

""

Additionally, the mother’s terrible knees prevent her from even attempting to follow the dogs when they are in danger.

""

The worst thing is that she ignores her daughter’s warnings about the risks of letting dogs run free near busy roads.

""

Now OP asks AITA

""

Even if the dogs are partly trained to go off-leash, there are so many additional circumstances that will compromise that training, which OP’s mother doesn’t seem to grasp. And those can put the lives of the dogs in jeopardy on busy roads. Additionally, it appears that OP’s mother isn’t providing the dogs with any additional training to make sure they can walk effectively off-leash. So when they approach highways, they actually endanger all of them. It appears like many of the other commenters on the post share the same opinions. Here are some of the most popular remarks.

Now that you have read the story. it’s time for you to see what Redditors had to say on this. Read till the end to see what are other people’s opinions on this. Don’t forget to share your own opinion at the end of this article too.

Simply put, whenever OP’s mother lets the dogs go free, she is gambling with their life.

""

Letting dogs run loose close to highways puts their lives in danger and increases the possibility of accidents.

""

It’s quite odd that the mother of the OP can’t see the sense in what’s happening.

""
""

OP appears to be making every effort to be a responsible dog owner, while her mother appears to be acting in the opposite way.

""

NTA

""

I think the same

""

Edit by OP

""

That’s true

""
