The one thing Redditors hate most is parents who call their children’s care “babysitting”. It’s a surefire way to get roasted on Reddit if you refer to a childcare issue as babysitting. What about when you “babysit” your child so another man can take your wife out to the movies and to fancy dinners instead of you? You are about to be incinerated.
Such was the case of OP, who wondered if he was the a$$hole for the asking to be paid to watch his daughter and the neighbor’s daughters while the neighbor showed his wife a good time. OP’s wife loves horror films, OP can’t stand them, and the neighbor enjoys them as well. This explains why the neighbor and his wife hang out. When the neighbor started buying his wife fancy dinners and taking her out, OP should have set a hard boundary. As a result, the OP used this as an excuse to absolve himself of any couple-related activities since his wife was fully satisfied going out with said neighbor.
