Manager Threatens To Have Ex-Employee Fired Even Though They Had Given Their Two Week Notice Over A Month Ago

Two Week Notice

To be a manager is not just having the authority to boss your employees around. A good manager treats his/her employees with care, listens to their issues, and works with them as team members to assure what they visualize for the future is what they see. We have all read the famous words “Be the change you want to see” and it is really the best policy a manager can adopt in any organization in the world. However, people who do not have any managerial skills whatsoever and get promoted to that auspicious position, are only meant to ruin it for the company…I am too sure about that.

In today’s story, that is exactly what happens. Reddit user u/Thischick1 who worked as a hostess at a big restaurant chain shared the people who would get promoted to the position of managers had no skills to work as managers. And that would result in unfair treatment all around. The same would happen with OP so she decided to find a new job and when she did, she gave in her 2-week notice to the general manager.

However, 2 weeks later, she received a message to join work. OP cleared everything out by calling but 2 weeks after it happened again. After providing clarity to the restaurant once again, the day OP was supposed to show up (according to the restaurant) the new manager sent OP a lot of angry messages threatening her that she may get fired if she didn’t show up. OP had been the company’s ex-employee for almost a month by this time.

Because she didn’t work there anymore, she did not show up. However, she did report the new manager for using violent language and it resulted in her being suspended and demoted.

1. Did she say “fired”? Even though she had resigned already? This is going to be an interesting one.

2. OP used to work at a restaurant under many managers who get promoted from servers…so most of them come with no managerial skills under their belts.

3. Because the new managers would just not treat OP well, she decided to find a new job and handed in her 2 weeks’ notice to the general manager.

4. However, just when the notice period ended and OP got declared an ex-employee of the restaurant, she got told she had to come to work her shift for the following week.

5. Even though the company had apologized for the error, OP received the same message again 2 weeks after the previous one. They apologize once again.

6. And it happened again, this time the new manager had left a lot of messages on OP’s phone threatening to be reported for not coming in.

7. Hold on a minute, did the new manager agree to the fact that OP does not work at the restaurant and still told her it was wrong of her to not work her shift? Are you listening to this manager?

I am ready to claim this new manager has no brain cells. They are agreeing to the fact that yes OP really did put in her two weeks notice about a month and a half ago which clearly means she has been now an ex-employee of the company for roughly a month. The new manager is agreeing with all of this information. And yet they proceed to say OP is still scheduled and it is not okay for her to not show on a day she is scheduled to work on. Like, what is this new manager on? I don’t know the answer to that but what I do know is that this manager is not going to stick at the company for long, I am willing to bet on that.

Let’s see what happens next in this spiral of confusion. Scroll down below to continue reading.

8. She doesn’t work for the restaurant, and she will not show up.

9. The new manager went off at OP for ruining it all for the restaurant and OP simply took screenshots of her messages and sent them to the other managers she had networks with.

10. And it worked. The new manager got demoted. Happy days.
