Old Employer Wants To Sue Employee For Not Giving Password To Them After 4 Years

Facing a network crisis and being unable to access crucial administrative passwords, the company found itself in a dire situation after terminating the ex-manager. After reaching out to their former manager, who had overseen the network engineering team for two decades, tensions escalated when the passwords were not readily available. Frustration mounted as the company, now experiencing severe operational disruptions and financial strain, threatened legal action against the ex-manager (OP).

However, a shift in tone occurred when the company, realizing the urgency of the situation, contacted the ex-manager again, this time adopting a more conciliatory approach. Seeking guidance on resolving the crisis, they inquired about potential solutions, prompting the ex-manager to assert their need for legal representation in any further communication. The company, momentarily taken aback, was left to grapple with the consequences of their actions and the complexities of navigating the aftermath of the terminated employment relationship.
