Redditor Takes Neighbor’s Dogs To Shelter After Seeing His Lack Of Care For Them

People often don’t think about how big a responsibility could be before taking on it.

Responsibilities are not a joke. If you take on one, you are supposed to honor it as your life depends on it. One major responsibility people take on is by adopting a pet animal. Adoption is like having your own baby and it is definitely not easy. Parenting an animal can be difficult and requires a lot of patience and way too much commitment. The struggles are only high until the pet animal finally decides to trust its owner. Especially when it is a dog, onwards the life is bliss. Dogs know exactly what to do to make their owners happy, joyous, entertained, and loved once that inseparable bond forms between the two. But all of that comes after you wait and be a responsible parent. At times people lose their patience and fail to fulfill the responsibility of adoption.

What happens then? The owner starts being careless. In today’s story, one dog owner who didn’t care much about his dogs annoyed their neighbor. So much so that one day when this person saw tho dogs escape his neighbor’s yard, he decided to take the dogs to a shelter because their owner was not doing anything to make life better for those dogs.

Scroll down below to read how it all went down. The matter was posted on the subreddit AITA by OP in order to know if they did the right thing by taking their neighbor’s dogs to a shelter.

1. It’s an event that probably saved the dogs.

2. New neighbors moved in who would always leave all their dogs outside.

Wouldn’t that be illegal to never let your dogs inside? Like, ever?

3. The dogs would stay out and bark all the time which would stress the neighbors nearby. One called the police but no one answered the door when they arrived.

4. Thank god, things could’ve gotten worse for the dogs had no one caught them.

5. That’s great advice. Taking them to the shelter should be exactly what should’ve already been done long ago.

6. They escaped again and the neighbors decided to take the dogs to a shelter nearby. The neighbor found out and wasn’t too happy about it.

7. No one kidnapped the dogs. If anything, the neighbors saved the dogs. Who knows what might’ve crossed paths with them when the dogs escaped? Could’ve been dangerous.

I think we all know who the real AH was in this story. It was that careless human that didn’t care about his dogs at all. He literally had zero sense of responsibility and what bothers me the most is that he would never bring the dog inside. He would leave them outside all the time. If I had a dog, I would never want it to leave my sight, I would want to hug that creature and just freeze time. This person was not a dog owner, he was torturing those creatures, and taking them to the shelter was the best the neighbors could’ve done.

Here are some of the comments on the story:

8. Clearly the neighbor had no clue what “responsibility” meant.

9. Taking them to the shelter was a better decision.

10. The only acceptable course of action.

11. We have to come up with a way to know who is actually serious to adopt and who is doing it to ruin the pet’s life.

12. Check the code and the city might take action.

13. Clearly not.

Dog tax.

“My husband and I rescued little Bowie off the streets of Guam. He was covered in ticks and burs and his back leg was broken presumably from being hit by a car. And he was only 2 months old! Now, he’s 6 months old and lives in Hawaii with 6 humans that adore him. Rescue is beautiful.”
