She must’ve felt so terrible to know that her own father had been doing this to her mother. You least expect such a thing in marriage because this relationship has been glorified as a beautiful bond that allows the two parties to rely on each other, care for each other, to spend time in a happy, joyous, and fun way. When you realize your other half had been stealing from you, even after you got divorced, even the sound of it feels horrible.
As a wife, OP’s mother was entitled to a percentage out of her husband’s retirement fund, and for years upon years, he had been munching on the whole pension without her having any idea that her part also went into his stomach. OP, the daughter, knew exactly how terrible her father was as a person. She was the one who figured out what had been happening and decided she couldn’t just sit and let this all happen.
So, she decided to hire a lawyer to seek justice for her mother. With all the documents at hand, they had the stronger hand. Result? The mother started getting her well-deserved monthly pension after 3 months.
