Dog Mom Gets Excluded From Mother’s Day Lunch, Throws A Tantrum And Causes A Scene

Raising a kid and caring for a pet are two different things and can never be the same.

Mother’s Day is a special day to honor and appreciate all the mothers out there who have been nurturing and caring for their children. However, it seems that some pet owners are getting a little carried away with the idea of being a “mom”. A kid’s mom and a dog’s mom can never be the same. A dog owner shared on Reddit that she has been friends with Leila and some of the other friends since school. They used to have a mother’s day lunch every year where child-free moms were not allowed. OP and Leila used to be a part of the celebration but they had nothing to do in those celebrations so they agreed to be left out of these celebrations.

One day, Leila came over to OP’s place and vented about being left out of the celebration and OP tried to explain that she is not a real mom and that being a dog mom is different than having a kid. Leila threw a tantrum after hearing this and left. Scroll down to read the complete story.

OP and Leila have been friends with 5 other women who have kids but OP and her friend are dog moms.

The group has been doing a mother’s day for the past 11 years and those without kids were excluded and everyone was okay with that.

Leila invited her friends to her pup’s birthday party but some of the friends left because their kids were allergic to the dog. Leila was sad that they left.

Leila came over to OP’s place and was angry that she was left out of mother’s day. OP told her that their friends had a reason for not including them.

OP told Leila that mother’s day is for real moms only and that they are different kinds of moms than others.

OP thinks that she should have not said anything to Leila and let her be mad at that time.

They were not excluded at first. They were left out after two years.

Being a parent involves a tremendous amount of responsibility and sacrifice. Raising a child requires a significant investment of time, energy, and resources. From pregnancy and childbirth to sleepless nights and endless diaper changes, the physical and emotional toll of parenting is significant. It’s a 24/7 job that lasts for many years, and the rewards are immeasurable.

On the other hand, being a pet owner involves caring for a companion animal who is entirely dependent on you for its basic needs. While there is certainly love and joy involved, the level of responsibility and sacrifice is not the same as raising a child.

Leila is not childless, she chose to be childfree.

Dogs and children are not the same and Leila should understand this.

Leila should celebrate her bond with her dog on Pet Parent Day.
