Last week, as OP joined the janitorial team responsible for sanitizing our local public school buildings during the widespread cancellations, little did they know that they would find themselves in the midst of a perplexing situation. It was their first day on the job, and they were assigned to clean the auditorium. While it was common knowledge that schools were closed, it seems that not everyone received the memo.
As OP began their cleaning duties, pushing their cart and dressed in their janitorial uniform, a woman entered the auditorium accompanied by her two young children, aged around 5 and 7. Politely, OP informed her, “Hi, I’m sorry, but the school is closed for the rest of the—” Before they could finish, she interrupted them, confidently asserting, “Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, but this is the daycare service, right?”
Perplexed by her assumption, OP replied, “No, what? No. I’m just a member of the cleaning crew.”
Looking slightly flustered, she inquired, “Well, where’s the daycare?”

22. They had the conversation on speakerphone so OP caught bits and pieces
23. OP thinks that he called his wife for an explanation because she arrived not too soon afterward
24. The cops and social worker were lecturing them!
