Reddit user u/Better-Refrigerator6 shared the reason why he hated his ex-stepmother so much was that his father cheated on his real mother with that woman. Later, the ex-stepmom cheated on OP’s father and that is how the relationship became that of an “ex” between OP and his stepmother.
One day while OP was having lunch with his best friend at a famous food spot, his ex-stepmom and her son also showed up and sat next to them. When the woman tried to interact with OP asking him how he was OP cursed at her. OP then started talking to his ex-stepbrother to which the ex-stepmom interrupted again asking if she was invisible. That is when OP reached his saturation point and with everything built up in his heart over the years, he went off at his ex-stepmother telling her to go fu*ck herself.

2. One time OP went for lunch with his friend at a popular place and ended up getting a seat next to his ex-stepmom and ex-stepbrother.
3. OP had a very weak connection with his ex-stepbrother.
4. That is a terrible history to associate your father with. OP’s father cheated on his mother with the woman he is sitting next to.
5. Woah…toxicity just went full circle. And that is why she is OP’s ex-stepmom now, I guess.
6. While having their lunch, OP and his friend got interrupted by his ex-stepmom who asked him how he was. OP was in no mood to respond politely after everything that had happened.
7. OP then decided to turn to his stepbrother and began greeting him. This angered his ex-stepmom who asked OP if she was invisible.
8. It was at that moment that OP went off at his ex-stepmom without any filters.
I am lowkey double-minded here. I fully understand where that blow-up came from by OP. Everything had built up inside him and at that moment, it just came out. After all, that woman resulted in his father ending the relationship with his mother. So the hate was always going to be there. However, if we consider the lunch as a standalone event, the ex-stepmother didn’t really say anything rude or harsh to OP. She only asked how he was and I believe the sudden backlash was kind of unfair.
