Husky Play Date Group Member Gets Kicked Out For Suggesting Woman To Rehome Her Dog Instead Of Getting It Euthanized

Would you rather your dog be euthanized or rehomed?

Just because adopting a dog, or any other pet animal, is such a joyous event and makes life fun, many people start adoption before taking into account the “responsibility” factor. People most often ignore this by saying “we will learn along the way” and I think such a mindset is not only incorrect but unfair to that dog as well. First of all, it is your time that heavily gets invested, and next in line is your money because you have to take care of that creature you would for your biological child. That’s the status they deserve and that’s how it should be. And then there are certain breeds that require more than just that, so it has to be examined very well what the dog you are adopting requires and you should at least be a junior expert in that animal just so things run smoothly. Just know that if pure love exists in your heart for that animal, you will manage it.

One important thing to get your grip, on when you go for adopting large dogs like husky, is the training part. Unlike tiny ones, they require an extra effort to be trained and it is not an overnight thing. You have to invest a lot of your time and be invested in yourself. A lot of people ask professionals to train their large dogs for them but honestly, I think the best connection establishes when you do it all yourself. Yes, professionals can guide you but being part of the experience yourself will also let the dog know that you care for it and are striving for this relationship to get stronger

Now that we have established, training large dogs is necessary for a better life together, let’s move toward today’s story that touches on the consequences of not training your large dog. u/Either_Ad_405 is a husky owner who one day was on a play date with his play date, made for their huskies to play together, and met another husky owner in the process who said that her dog had recently started to bite and snap her hands a lot. Her solution to this was to euthanize her husky. OP suggested she get her dog professionally trained for things to get better but she couldn’t afford it. The next suggestion was to rehome the dog and it naturally sounds like a far better option than taking the dog’s life. You won’t believe what happened next. OP got kicked out of the play date group and that woman was also really angry at him for making such a suggestion.

Scroll down below to read the story for yourself and let us know if you think rehoming is better than euthanasia or worse.

1. Let’s dig right into the details and then decide.

2. OP is part of a husky play-date group.

3. Woah, isn’t that a bit early and too little of a reason for euthanization?

4. His harness is what bothers him and that’s why she was seeing her husky behave aggressively.

5. According to her she has tried everything possible but she is now left with no other option but to euthanize.

6. Upon being asked if she tried training the dog into behaving better, she said no. Training and time…two very important factors that she didn’t work on.

7. OP then suggested if she can’t afford to train the dog, she should rehome it by giving it to someone who is capable of having the dog trained.

8. That is pretty clear.

9. Turns out OP got kicked out of the play-date group for what he said. Surely the woman must’ve complained.

10. There’s no hope in this woman. The dog needs to be taken away from her because a person with this behavior is never going to get anywhere in life.

11. There is no math here. Her solution to this is not okay.

12. This made OP really upset and they took their case to the AITA members to know if suggesting a person rehome their dog made them an as*hole or not.

OP, you should never for once think you were wrong in this situation. I mean, if I am to narrate this situation in the simplest words, that woman now does not want her dog and wants it to be killed. A person suggested she gives her dog away to someone who can better take care of it and train it into behaving like a good boy. Which option do you think is better? Obviously, the rehoming option, and everyone got mad at him for making that suggestion. All the play-date group members along with this irresponsible dog owner are all the AHs.

Following are some of the comments on the story:

13. OP should privately contact the group members and should try to convince them to convince the woman to go for rehoming.

14. The dog needs to be inspected by other members of the group to understand what the real problem is and whether there can be a better, third, solution to this.

15. That would make our world a better place.
