Karen Creates A Scene Over Ownership Of The House When Op Clearly Owns It, Gets Roasted

The Karen Invasion Is Out Of Control.

In today’s world, at 20 years old becoming a homeowner is something that most people can only dream of and would want to work until they can achieve that dream. But we still see a few people who manage to make this dream come true. It can be either due to relentless hard work or in some cases just sheer luck. Usually, when it’s the latter we see that it brings with it a fair share of distrust and suspicion. In this experience of a young girl who found herself achieving a milestone, many would think and question her capability.

After buying a house, she had a bizarre interaction with her neighbour one day. The neighbour was an elderly woman in her 50’s named Jane who went about making a big deal at the young girl simply painting her own door. This left her feeling strange enough to cause a scene. The next day, while discussing the incident with her father, who seemed to think she had acted rashly, she found herself questioning whether that was really the case.

“Am I the A-hole”

This is a story of a 20-years old girl who became a homeowner and nobody believed her. After a peculiar incident, she reached out to the wise, trustworthy strangers on the internet at Reddit “Am I the A-hole” to hear what they thought about her reaction. The young girl on her Reddit “Most_While_8500” explained how she bought the house for only $15,000 after the man who lived there passed away. The house was this cheap due to its clapped-out state. It needed a lot of renovation.

Twice while the young girl was working in her yard the women approached her. The girl narrates, “My next-door neighbour, I’ll call her Jane(50s?), came out and introduced herself. I explained that I just moved in and was preparing my yard for spring,”

“She said it was nice [that] someone was doing some work for the old man and gave me a spiel about how it’s a quiet neighbourhood and I shouldn’t have parties [sic].” After the girl explained that she didn’t plan on throwing any parties apart from a simple housewarming. It was the first time that it occurred to the old lady that this girl possibly owns the house. She was quite sceptical about it.

“She said it’s weird to throw a housewarming when I was renting. I told her I own the house. She didn’t believe me but went home.” This was the normal part of their series of interactions. Because soon after as the Reddit poster was painting her door, enjoying a normal blissful day the neighbour showed her true colours.

“She stormed over yelling that I better of had permission to paint someone else’s house,” she wrote. “I again told her I own the home. She started yelling that I was too young to buy a house and she was contacting my landlord.”

But the truth of the tale was that the young girl was indeed the landowner and she was about to lash out on further provocation.

“She started demanding proof. I told her it was non [sic] of her business and to get off my property. She walked to the edge of her yard and called the police saying I was a squatter. When they showed up, I showed them my paperwork a asked to trespass her from my home.”

“Jane is still angry.”

The young girl got tempted to head towards the Reddit forum AITA after her father called her an “a-hole” for not having settled the situation with more patience and compromise. He said she should’ve shown her the paperwork to prevent the situation from escalating.

The response she got from the Reddit users was pretty supportive. Although many expressed their jealousy on her lucky find of the house, mostly she found an overwhelmingly positive attitude. They all admired her response towards the old woman and confessed that they would’ve acted similarly if not harsher still.

The comments she received also pointed out that even if she had shown the old woman the paperwork, chances are that she wouldn’t have believed her anyway. As you can see the comments below, taken from the original Reddit post show how everyone supported her.

Well, we completely agree.
