“Don’t Like My ‘Silly’ Job, You Don’t Get Its ‘Silly’ Perks”: MIL Makes Fun Of Woman’s Job, Regrets It Later

A lady who works as an assistant stage manager in a theatre recently revealed an event she had with her future mother-in-law.

“Aladdin is coming to theatres this season, and my future mother-in-law has been wanting to watch it.” ” She asked me if I could get her and a buddy a seat so they could go watch it,” the author, Littleredbird1991, revealed in a post on the Petty Revenge subreddit that received 12.6k upvotes.

Littleredbird1991 was generous enough to arrange for a substantial discount on the tickets and book them in her name. However, “a few weeks later, FMIL calls me and my fiancé home for dinner.”

“FMIL laughed at me and said my work wasn’t a real job and that it was just a ‘silly side gig’ and that maybe if I had an actual job I would’ve known what it is like to genuinely work,” the author recalled.

As you can expect, this infuriated Littleredbird1991, who intended to give her ungrateful FMIL a lesson she’ll never forget.

Despite the fact that future daughter-in-law secured discounted theatre tickets for future mother-in-law, bitter FMIL labeled DIL’s work “a silly side gig.”

Toxicity prevails in every household regardless of color, region, or wealth. The author had to deal with a similar incident due to her toxic FMIL. Let’s see what drama an assistant stage manager has to tell us today.

Being an assistant stage manager is not an easy job. You have to be physically and mentally present ALL THE TIME!

In the backstage area, an assistant stage manager serves as the stage manager’s eyes, ears, and hands. This crucial individual sends all cues to the backstage staff, observes the performers before and throughout the play, and relays information back to the stage manager so that he or she may make sound decisions.

Oops….a line has been crossed there. No one is allowed to comment on someone’s job. People do that very often and pretend as if nothing has happened.

No job is good or bad. We should respect everybody’s job as long as they are not hurting you in any way through their work. Everybody’s source of income is respectful.

This girl is going places! Today, the older generation thinks these are still the old times and still no one would speak up in front of them no matter what they say. But the youth has proved that no one is going to stay quiet anymore.
