It’s been 24 years since Titanic came out and blew our minds away! It’s the favorite romantic movie of teenagers and even adults. Witnessing huge success, Titanic got various awards because of its cinematography, storyline, and awesome production. However, every good thing has some shortcomings associated with it. You may think, what’s wrong with Titanic? Let us tell you that.
Every movie has a few mistakes that are too little for us to notice. After all, they are made by humans. And humans have a tendency of making mistakes. Let’s see what are some of the mistakes that only the titanic movie fans noticed and pointed out;
1. Can you see other people here?
When you start watching the movie, you can look at many people coming closer and waving goodbye to the ones they love. But, there is one thing that you may have missed. Jack along with his dear friend Fabrizio (who Danny Nucci played), wanted to win a lucky ticket and started playing cards. Now, look closely. Can you see the people who were waving goodbye? The ship can be seen, but where did the people go?
Well, we have no idea. The crowd can be seen on the dock. Fabrizio and Jack also jump on the ship to start their new journey.
2. Which lake, Jack?
In this scene, Jack is diverting Rose’s attention and telling her she can’t jump into the Atlantic waters that are ice cold. Now, notice how he tells Rose about Lake Wissota which did not exist until 1917. Mind you, the story of Titanic was over in 1912. Also, the roller coaster of Santa Monica went through the same thing where Jack makes a promise that he will take Rose there. However, it was also not created until 1916.
3. Look, the bow has changed. Is this overseas magic?
The filmmakers really overlooked some things. Look at the bow here, it’s different in both pictures. Leonardo DiCaprio is amused by the dolphins in one scene and in the other, he and Rose are having their intimate moment. Don’t you feel a difference?
4. What’s up with her nail?
The movie was surely filmed for a long time, so we know that the nails of Kate Winslet would grow or change over time. But, the movie just involves a few days. How is it possible that her short nails would be of a great length so quick? Come on.
5. What? The suspenders have also disappeared?
When Rose saves Jack and unlocks his handcuffs, you will find a lot of mistakes here as well. You can look at Jack’s suspenders vividly, but when Rose saves him, the suspenders are nowhere to be found. And this has not happened just once. Maybe the team should have not included suspenders at all.
However, this is also one of the most frequently pointed out movie mistakes. We all kinda noticed it, especially those of us who have watched it more 3 to 4 times.
6. Jack has magical hair.
Now, look at the two scenes. Jack dances with Cora and then goes to Rose. Here, his hair is all messed up. But then, Jack’s hair is so well-combed and has a lot of gel in them. Who would not want to have such magical hair now?
7. The drawing is different too.
In this scene, when Jack makes a picture of Rose, people went gaga over it. With emotions on a peak, nobody may have noticed the drawing mistake. In the first picture, Jack draws a thick line, but when the canvas is shown again, the thick drawing line is nowhere to be found and we can see much thinner and perfect lines.
8. Where did the folder go?
Have a look at this drawing. Rose’s fiance, Cal, opens the brown folder. When Cal opens the folder and wants to tear the paper, the folder magically disappears and we only see him holding the folder.
9. Oh look! It’s the cameraman.
There wasn’t much innovation in technology when Titanic was created. Since the crew of the film had many cameramen who were filming the actors from all angles, you can see one of them through the glass doors. This is quite a visible error and nobody would have been able to rectify it with the technology of that age.
10. We can see the difference in the smokestack as well.
Just like we had a look at the bow and railing of the ship, the smokestack looks different as well. Maybe it has the power to change its face every time. When the movie just starts and when the ship is about to sink, we can see the difference in the smokestack in both scenes. Since it took a lot of days to film this movie, maybe capturing every little detail and remembering how things were in previous scenes would have been trouble.
Apart from the mistakes we just discussed, there are still some moments that bring tears to our eyes and melt our hearts. Titanic was an iconic movie and forever will be. Let us know which scene you liked the best!
