Neighbor Sent This Woman A Passive Aggressive Letter Asking Her To Remove Her Fake Decoration Plants

This neighbor wanted to pick a fight with another for putting up decorations.

Neighbors can be so annoying at times. Like, what gives you the right to decide what your neighbor should do? Yes, if they are doing something wrong or illegal, sure go ahead and report the matter to the local police, but if the party concerned is doing nothing that will harm society, then you as their neighbor shouldn’t poke your nose in their business.

Unfortunately, this Reddit user had a neighbor who for some reason didn’t like the way they had put up fake potted plants as decoration pieces. Yup, you read that right. User u/HedgehogSmoothie one day received a very passive-aggressive letter from their neighbor which angrily stated that they should remove all their fake potted plants. I swear this is so hilarious. The letter seemed like a proper order and it felt like the neighbor was not in the mood for any jokes.

Fast forward, OP recently posted an update to the original story, which we are going to be looking at today (don’t worry we will also look at the first letter), and they mentioned that their neighbor had sent a second passive-aggressive letter. This time it was a warning letter to remove the decorations or there will be consequences.

Here’s the original, poorly written letter that was sent to the OP by her passive-aggressive neighbor.

The letter stated how the neighbor didn’t like that OP had fake plants on her porch as decoration pieces. They were worried that this would negatively impact other neighbors’ houses. This neighbor went on to have a group meeting with 14 other neighbors to discuss this matter and they all mutually decided to give her 2 days to remove all that mess from her house.

OP, then, in the comments section shared an update about receiving a second letter that was written in more or less the same style and on the same topic.

In the update, OP mentioned the letter, although written in the same way, was slightly less threatening this time. Perhaps, the neighbor realized they can’t really claim what OP did was illegal or anything. So this time around it was a warning letter “until further notice”. OP talked to a neighbor about this and they also shared how they also received a letter once from a neighbor who wanted them to remove their Halloween decorations.

Here’s that second letter:

OP said she would share further updates if anything new came up but also decided to not pursue this matter any further.

Here are some of the comments on the story:

OP got told the neighbors cannot touch her on legal grounds for putting up those plants, and that she should put a video camera on so she can record them trespassing the next time they do it.

OP was slightly concerned with the threatening tone of the letter but knew she didn’t go against the law. She also liked the idea of putting up a video camera.

No one can do anything about the way you decorate your house. You know it’s legal, there is no need to take anything off, instead, you should add more stuff, OP.
