This owner did exactly that, which not only makes them extremely smart but hilarious. This restaurant has outdone itself with these unique and quirky signs that make people laugh and make you want to check this place out because if the signboard is that captivating, the restaurant must be too. It is more of a unique selling point for this restaurant owner as this is how it attracts its customers. These pictures will make you want to visit the place as well.
This restaurant is known as El Arroyo and it’s located in Austin. Every now and then, they change up their signs and we wonder who the genius behind these hilarious signboards is. These signs are amazing, they are very unique and unexpected but strangely enough, they’ll hit you personally, and you will find this absolutely hilarious because you will be able to relate to half of them. Or maybe even more? You never know! But that is how we know that their strategy is working and is an absolute hit. We are all pretty amazed at their unique tactics and great signboards.

The El Arroyo restaurant was founded back in 1975 and has been serving the Texans ever since. They have a website as well, where they impress the customers with the pictures and signs etc. The restaurant was not as popular back then but as of right now, its followers grew from 236K followers to 489K on Instagram. It is for sure very commendable and happened because proved to be different!
El Arroyo is also very interactive with their customers on their website where they ask them to suggest their own witty or funny signs that later show up on the huge board, like a prize. El Arroyo would not have been this popular and amazing without Ellis and Paige Winstanley who made this all possible. But when asked about their sign, after the inauguration of the witty signboard, Paige had this to say, “Pissed-off people were calling regularly about its messaging back then. So, we tried to do two things: Harness a voice that toes the line between uplifting, snarky, and of-the-moment, and lean into the social media side of things. These days, we have more than 660,000 followers across all our platforms,”
The change is not only noticeable but deserves to be highlighted. The couple really went all out and did a perfect job. Their signboards have been extremely popular, that Ellis in her interview said when asked about the kind of signs that go up,
“Unless it’s a public figure who really asks for it, we want it to be a beacon of genuine love for the spirit of Austin. We stay on top of current events, too. You wouldn’t believe how many times we’ve come up with quips on a text chain where we’re just spitballing […] and, 30 minutes later, it’s up,” You might also find your sign some time up to!
They once again proved to be different and unique when they started their ‘to-go Margarita’ which blew up like a sensation among the locals who absolutely loved the idea and the thought behind it. With the signboard that goes along with their new strategy as well ‘Now would be a good time to legalize margarita delivery’. Their smart tactics and business approach have led them to stay afloat during the hardships of the pandemic where businesses lost everything. Restaurant etc closed down because it could not handle. However, El Arroyo’s smart business techniques have led it to become an internet famous restaurant!

This restaurant did a commendable job at sustaining itself during the hard times and not only surviving through it but also getting well-deserved recognition and popularity. It also shows that if you have the determination to do something, you will find ways to do it. Ellis and Paige were determined to keep their restaurant afloat and work creatively throughout the hard times. Hence, they got praise and many more customers. Their signboards have truly made an impact and have become one of the most favourite things of all restaurant lovers! It has not only become the talk of their town but has attracted everyone’s attention when these pictures went global. Their popularity has only risen ever since April 2020, when the pandemic struck and they needed a new creative idea to keep them from shutting down as well. I would say, they did a pretty great job!
