1. OP and his fiance have been together for two years and they have lived with their roommate John for one year John has a girlfriend Liz who doesn’t live with them
2. OP has lived in this house for three years Pete and John moved in last year at the same time moreover, OP said they found John through an ad for a roommate online. He’s been a nice roommate but they don’t have much in common so their interactions have remained on the surface.
3. Pete proposed to OP in April and they started planning their wedding but didn’t mention anything to John John had already told them that he was going to move in with Liz when their lease was up
4. OP made herself a wedding planner binder keeping track of all the details
5. When it was time to renew their lease John informed OP that he and Liz had broken up and he would be staying, they told him they were sorry to hear it but were happy for him to stay.
6. After resigning the lease John and Liz became friendly and yesterday OP was in the kitchen doing dishes when Liz and John came in and Liz said you shouldn’t leave your things lying around in the common spaces
