Meet a 27-year-old foster mom facing a family rift that goes beyond sibling squabbles. 1. Staying at your sister’s house and not being able to stand her daughter…what else did she expect?
2. OP is planning to adopt her foster daughter, May, after spending the best 8 months of her life with her.
3. OP’s sister, Kate, since filing for divorce after her miscarriage has been living with her.
4. The relationship between Kate and May, though, has been terrible since inception and the problem is with the way Kate reacts to anything May says or asks.
5. OP has told Kate to stop behaving rudely to May but she doesn’t understand.
6. Even the simplest of requests would be met with aggression and yelling.
7. Kate’s rationale for the rudeness was that May reminded her of a potential future with a baby which will never exist because of the miscarriage she had.
Was May responsible for Kate’s miscarriage? Nope. Perhaps OP did something…absolutely not. Then why in the world is Kate being so rude to May? It isn’t the little girl’s fault she reminds Kate of her miscarriage. This is not the way to deal with your problems or past. Poor May doesn’t even understand all dynamics of world yet and is constantly being met with yelling. And it is Kate who starts crying after doing it. It is like she feels bad but has no control over her emotions when she sees May. Yes, you may feel for her but this is no way to go about it. Kate has to change.

8. When Kate and OP got into a heating argument, as an outcome OP told her sister to leave if she couldn’t stand May at her house.
9. Kate left for her parents house and since then OP has been getting messages from them.
10. OP got called a horrible sister while she responded by saying Kate was being insensitive to her and May’s relationship.
11. The melodramatic nature of the scenario made OP knock on the doors of the AITA community to ask if telling her sister to leave because she wasn’t being nice to her foster daughter made her wrong or not.
