“Stupid Yahoo answers questions and stupid old tweets and I realized this was an unclaimed idea.”, this is how the idea of ‘The Stupid police’ came about, the creator told. “I didn’t start the account with that, nor have I been posting that type of content because I knew they wouldn’t go viral,” the creator said, the rapid acknowledgement can only be attributed to the preparations that took place before the account made its debut. Instead of doing what other mainstream accounts were doing, they gathered different tweets and compiled them altogether “a list of viral-worthy tweets which all went viral, resulting in the blow up of this account.”
“I was thinking about creating a gimmick account for a while so I went through and tried to think of ideas that haven’t been done before,” they creater told. “This included cross-referencing viral tweets to find a similarity, looking through subreddits and searching through memes to find common similarities”. The account accumulated almost 145.1 K followers on Twitter making it a huge success.
