There is a kind of common fear we have that you might not even be aware of. Things that you’re not sure would even happen, but have experienced to some degree throughout your lives. I’m talking about something as simple as accidentally cutting yourself with scissors while trying to trim your beard, or stubbing your toe so hard the nail comes off. It’s these kinds of horrific home accidents that are so cringey and unsettling that they appear in everyone’s thoughts at least once.
This is where the artist CCMH, who is a part of DarkBox, comes in. He has created generally wordless comics that rely entirely on expressions and still images to convey a horrific storyline. The reason why his work is so unsettling is that the accidents depicted in his comics are so common and unusual, that you might have experienced some of them at some point in your life, or even thought of them. But he takes it several steps further, and dials it all the way up to eleven.
