Kids should be taught not to ruin things.
I am well aware that you can’t really train your kids to be perfect robots but it is necessary to teach them some basic things so they become decent human beings when they grow up. However, a lot of parents tend to forget this and let their kids get away with a lot of stuff that only reinforces their bratty behavior. I am not saying that you can make them into angels but having some sort of punishment in place that isn’t harmful when they do something wrong might not be such a bad thing.
I know that a lot of parents don’t like to hear other people saying their kids messed up but you have to accept it and strive to do better as a parent. After all, we all make mistakes. And this especially applies if your kid breaks something that is someone else’s possession. Even if you think it was just a mistake, it is still your responsibility to fix whatever that thing may be. However, this mother doesn’t understand that simple fact and this has led to an argument with the babysitter.

We start off this story with this woman explaining her babysitter’s job.
The kids are at an age where they understand a lot of things.
Things were going well for them and the babysitter was allowed to use her laptop at work.
But things quickly turned sour when she realized the babysitter’s laptop was broken.
Rather than realizing that her kids were wrong, it turned into a shouting match.
The babysitter’s father also called but the woman wasn’t budging when it came to her decision.
I honestly don’t understand how this mother can think that it is the babysitter’s fault. It is not as if the kids are at an age where they don’t know simple things like not touching people’s possessions. So even if was just a mistake on the children’s part, the mother still owes the babysitter. She needs to pay her or the babysitter might even go to court which I hope doesn’t happen. However, she is on Reddit so she knows enough to ask people for opinions.
People were unsurprisingly also on the babysitter’s side.
The kids don’t know how to respect people’s possessions at all.
It really is as simple as that.
I can only hope this woman realizes her mistake and this doesn’t go further.
She didn’t mention anything about punishing her kids either.
This is legally wrong as well.
The kids knew it wasn’t their laptop and why would they break their own things anyway?
The babysitter definitely deserves the compensation for her laptop.
If you don’t want this kitty to break something of yours, just marvel at this cat tax!
I really want to pet her stomach but I know that if I do this, I wouldn’t leave without my arms getting bruised so it is better to stay away.
