Woman Make Boyfriend’s Mom Cry After She Gave Her Son A Paternity Gift

For any soon-to-be parent, pregnancy is filled with both fear and excitement. The latter, however, often turns into panic a few weeks before the baby arrives, when you start counting all the things you haven’t yet prepared for. Knowing your partner will be there for you and assist you in navigating this significant transition puts you at ease. However, as one woman discovered, this does not always appear to be the case.

Similar-Put1285 recently detailed in a post on the ‘AITA’ subreddit that her boyfriend took three weeks off work to be by her side during his paternity leave. The woman, who was 37 weeks pregnant, expected him to stay with her so they could both “adjust to being parents to a newborn.” Unfortunately, her boyfriend’s mother had other plans.

The lady thought there was a more efficient way to spend this time than being present in his child’s life, so she booked a vacation for him and decided to head him off to Italy. As you might expect, the user was not pleased. Community members expressed overwhelming support for the woman and expressed concerns about her family dynamics after reading the story. Everyone had different opinions.  Most people believe that the mother and her son are in the wrong in this situation. It’s easy to see why the post was so well received by users. After all, having a difficult relationship with your in-laws or, in this case, your boyfriend’s mother is nothing new. We see that everytime but one should be empthateic towards the mother as it is her first pregnancy, and it’s really not easy if it’s your first pregnancy.

It can be especially difficult for women when their mother-in-law regards them as a competitor for her attention.   A possessive mother-in-law is insecure about her son’s level of loyalty and desires to be the most important woman in her son’s life by constantly exerting influence over his feelings and choices.

Once the son establishes a relationship, his mother may attempt to exert control over his decisions by employing emotional manipulation tactics to keep her son close and dependent on his mother’s approval, because he still requires this to feel secure and stable and that’s what most mother do.   Unfortunately, men are frequently oblivious to their mother’s attempts to drive a wedge between the couple, according to Dr. Martinek. In the end, this mother-in-law will try to destroy the relationship until she can reestablish the parent-child dynamic she once had with her son but let’s just hope for the best.
