Women Asks Redditors If She Was Wrong For Yelling At Neighbor’s Kid To Stay Away From Her Dogs Or Not

Neighbor-related drama is the best drama ever.

We have had so many neighbor-related dramas in the past over here and they have been super popular because we love how dumb they can be. The stories are always about revenge, retribution, or something to do with teaching a neighbor a lesson. Today’s neighbor-related story is a bit different. In today’s story, this woman was seriously concerned whether what she did with her neighbor’s kid was an overreaction or not. Uncertain, she decided to seek help from a specific divine Reddit community, famously known as “Am I The Asshole?” A platform for confused people to post their stories and leave the matter to the community members to decide if they were the A**hole or if they were clear. Over 4 million members read the stories keenly, as they are linked directly to the matter, and be the judges of the matter. And then a collective verdict is tagged to the story as the matter is rested.

In today’s AITA story, the reason why I said the woman was scared of screaming at the neighbor’s kids was that she was worried her dogs would hurt him and the neighbor would complain to the authority, ultimately resulting in her being separated from her dogs. The reason why she screamed was that the kid was running towards her dogs as she was walking them on the street and the kid got awfully close and in order for nobody to get hurt, she had to yell.

Let’s read through the story OP shared to know what really happened that day. Scroll down below to read.

1. It is very dangerous for any stranger to approach a dog even if it is not aggressive. They all have a defensive instinct and that could result in matters getting worse.

2. A 50-pound pitbull and a cockapoo. Now that is a combination.

3. I am sure something will happen as she passes the house.

4. Okay that is cute. People often do that. Everyone loves dogs so much, that you cannot resist but to pet them or at least wave.

5. Woah, what happened to the dogs all of a sudden?

6. What the actual heck? That is so weird of the kid to start running after dogs and actually try to grab them. Dangerous more than weird.

7. Oh my god kid why aren’t you understanding. Just listen to the damn lady or get ripped into pieces,

8. In comes an adult, probably the kid’s father (the woman’s neighbor) and he forcefully pulls his son apart from the woman’s dogs.

9. Obviously the Dad was going to support his son and not understand the situation. How else would he be a bad neighbor? OP yelled because she feared her dog would bite the kid and they would have to pay a heavy toll for it.

10. The kid ran up to your dogs. He could’ve been smashed by the dogs. Do you really think there is a case here?

People! Are you reading this? The kid’s father actually ended up yelling at OP for stopping his kid from touching the dogs. I am laughing so hard at this man’s dumbness and inconsiderate towards his own child. OP actually did a favor to the neighbor’s kid by not letting him touch the dogs. Dogs don’t like people running by them or strangers touching them. Even the sweetest of dogs get alerted to possible danger and do what anyone who thinks they are in danger would do. The kid could have been harmed badly and OP would’ve been the one in deep trouble due to this. Her dog, as she said, could have been euthanized had the matter been taken to the authorities. So, fearing, she had to stop the kid at all costs to protect him and her dogs at the same time.

OP was NTA at all, the father was. He should’ve taught his child not to jump dogs. Had anything happened to the kid that day, I would’ve held the kid’s parents responsible for any damages. OP did nothing wrong here, she was just walking her dogs and that was it.

The community was asked a question and the community replied with a robust explanation. Here’s what the Redditors had to say:

11. See, you teach your kids such things so they don’t get hurt. Clearly, this father didn’t perform his duties too well.

12. It was the parents being super clumsy. OP actually did the kid a favor.

13. This commenter OP to train herself to deal with such situations a bit more calmy in the future. I agree, but she didn’t know how quickly the dogs would attack so she had to intervene suddenly.

Maybe it was her first time in such a situation so she went into a panic mode.

14. The child’s parents were proper idiots.

15. The overall vote was in OP’s support. The kid shouldn’t approach the dogs like that.

Kids love dogs and they love being around dogs. They are kids, they only understand the fun part. The parents are responsible t alert the kids of the dangers as well.

16. OP’s stress could’ve made the situation worse as dogs can sense their humans’ feelings. And that is why she got suggested to learn to deal with such situations in a calm manner next time.

17. The kid’s life was in danger had OP not stopped him, that is for sure.

18. Yeah why was there a kid randomly running on the street without any adults?
