Cat bellies are just so squishy.
And whenever you look at a belly, you just want to scratch these bellies whenever they put it up. However, that is not usually advised as you will end up with a gauged eye or a scar on your face that never goes away. We all like to call cats evil but most of the time, we are the ones provoking them to do bad things. I mean if you don’t want your cat to act up, try to understand their behavior and refrain from doing the things they hate.
I mean don’t get me wrong, I have scratched a few cat bellies in my time because they always look so tempting but it is always a risk and reward type of situation. You might get to scratch a furry belly and hear adorable meows or you might get out of the whole ordeal with a lot of scratches and a grumpy cat that might not trust you again. Humans might find it weird that cats hate belly rubs but there is a reason behind it. You see the hair follicles on their chubby bellies are hypersensitive. Just as we can be particularly ticklish on our stomachs, cats’ bellies are quite sensitive so usually, they don’t like to be touched there. Most cats prefer if you scratch them on their head or under their chin. So keep this in mind the next time you go to pet your kitty.
