Nurse Decides To Put Her Broken Computer In Supervisor’s Room Until It Is Fixed

tripping over my computer

Organizations can often get on your nerve for absolutely no reason at times. For instance, for you to operate efficiently as an employee, you require access to all the possible resources the business has to offer. If something isn’t being offered at its full capacity, ideally you should ask your supervisor to provide you with that resource. Unfortunately, though, most of the time the employees get hit by the infamous “Sorry, we don’t have the budget to get this done, or give you this”. But when someone from the senior management wants that resource or wants something to be done, suddenly the budgets will be there, the finance department will magically grow money, and the company will oblige with the senior manager’s need. This is unfair and bad practice. Everyone should be treated equally especially when the employee is ready to give it his/her all but the organization does not want to comply.

In such cases, the employees have to maliciously comply with their supervisors and that is exactly what happened in today’s story, we have a nurse whose work computer would break on her daily every time she would try to use it. This would infuriate her as her supervisor would tell her to work faster, as a taunt, but she of course could do nothing because the computer wouldn’t work. So the nurse decided to maliciously comply and put the computer in the supervisor’s office until it got fixed.

Scroll down below to read how it all went down.

1. The story reached a lot of people when it got posted on the Malicious Compliance subreddit.

2. OP is a nurse who worked on a rolling computer they referred o as a workstation on wheels.

3. And the computer almost always never worked, and no one reported the issue to the IT team either.

4. The IT team is good but how would they fix the computer when they don’t know it is broken?

5. So it is OP who would always come in, report the issue to the IT team and wait about 30 minutes for things to get sorted for her to finally use the workstation.

6. However, the boss wouldn’t see the extra effort OP was putting in and would always tell her to work faster.

7. So OP decided to maliciously comply with her Karen boss and from that day onward would push the workstation to her office.

9. And tada! Within a week, the hospital had 3 new workstations.

When will these bad bosses learn? What OP did was exactly the way this situation should’ve been dealt with. It bewilders me as to how they, without even thinking, tell their workers to work fast and even threaten them…but have no idea the reason why they are working slowly is because of the da*n computers that the hospital has provided that don’t work at all.

I am so infuriated. Such people do not deserve to sit in the seats of bosses. I really hope the boss tripped over that wow.
