Company Wants A Man To Come In After He Has Died, People Share Similar Stories

Corporations are unconcerned about their employees.

While I would argue that never is a strong word, it is unfortunately correct. For large corporations, we are just numbers, and as long as they make money, they don’t care about their employees’ lives. After all, to them, we are all disposable; they do not regard us as human beings. People have known this for generations, but the ambivalence of these corporations continues to astound us. That is exactly what happened to this individual.

Their uncle, you see, required medical leave after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Not only did the company not care about any of this, but they continued to call about insurance and other matters after he died. What kind of sick person would do such a thing? Corporations that seem to care only about the bottom line. We may believe that if we put enough pressure on them, they will change, though they will pretend to care because of the optics when the situation calls for it.

As you might expect, this isn’t the first time something like this has occurred, and many people have similar stories to share.

People, it turned out, had a lot of stories to tell. However, the original remark was not done yet. On Twitter, people decided to call out the company that had done this. Many people joined in. And, while I’d like to believe it would make a difference. The only thing that could happen is that the manager apologises and regrets the decision made by their subordinates. But we all know that it is all done for optics and nothing else.

It is unacceptable and yet we accept this behaviour nonetheless.
