What if the weather is chilly and wet outside, and you are working at your workplace, a stray adorable cat suddenly grabs your attention at the door. What would you do after? Rescue him or continue working? Obviously and hopefully, you will rush towards the kitty to rescue him. That’s what most humans would do if they see an innocent creature seeking help outside.
We came across a wholesome story of a stray cat who was waiting outside of the workplace to be let in and how a worker and her colleague, including some of her roommates, played their part in rescuing the poor little kitten. This story will help you believe that kindness still exists in the world. Scroll down to read the entire story;
It was a rainy night when Kay was working in her office until she got distracted by hearing loud cries over at the door. She got anxious and decided to go and take a look and what she found was a poor feral cat who was sitting behind the door meowing desperately to let it be inside. Kay decided to contact one of her roommates, Lauren Keim for help.
What a gorgeous kitty, isn’t she?
Lauren stated: “It was rainy and really cold, so we knew we had to at least bring him in for the night,”. She told, “I met up with Kay at work with our other roommates to bring him home. We gave him a bath. We were all sitting on the floor as he was exploring a room we had set up for him.”
Well, a cat person surely knows how to gain trust of the feral cats. Lauren had her first move and offered this dehydrated, and hungry stray cat a bowl of food. As this baby was scrawny and ravenous, he finished the bowl in a minute. Poor Soul!
Cats are the most innocent creatures. They can sense the good people and their vibes. They first observe the surroundings by just looking around. When Lauren and her roommates were discussing whether they should find the rescue or not, this baby just dozed off on Lauren’s lap with his face inside the blanket. Obviously, who would go to the rescue team now. Cuteness overloaded!
Lauren stated; “He crawled into my lap and fell asleep. I knew then that he was mine. I feel like he chose me at that moment,”
The stray cat was named “Chuck”, by Lauren and her roommates. Also, the name isn’t just any random name, they decided to name the cat their CEO of the company where they found this baby. Later, Lauren went to the vet and got to know their baby is only 1-3 years old, and he has no data chip on it. They found that due to some bite infection, Chuck was having an abscess on his front leg. But there was another worrisome problem, they discovered that Chuck have a broken back leg that needs to be amputated. The poor soul was living with his broken leg for a long time.
What a majestic creature.
Chuck had successful visits to the vet. He was the trooper there and they knew he would bounce back!
Lauren informed: “He is adjusting to life with three legs after his surgery, but he is moving around faster now than when we found him,”. She also stated: “Without even knowing everything he went through, Chuck has such a relaxed personality. His favorite thing is just lounging around. He also loves his cuddles and his food time” Lauren said.
“He is way more cuddly now like he’s showing me that he trusts me, and showing me love back.” stated Lauren.
Lauren told: “He is really silly, and overall, I feel like all he wanted to do was to feel safe and loved. I’m glad he picked me to provide that for him,”
“I don’t know what I did to be chosen by him, but I love being his human.”
