Manager Refuses To Let Employee Come With Her Service Dog Claiming The Dog Is Too Small

Dogs are heaven-sent.

As someone who is not a big dog person and adores cats, I cannot deny that many people rely on their dogs to get things done. We all know that having a pet can significantly improve your mood, making it an absolute necessity for people suffering from depression. Not only that, but dogs can assist you in a variety of other ways. There is a reason why many people with various issues have service dogs. While most people associate service dogs with German shepherds or other large dogs, there is no size requirement or specific breed that can become a service dog.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to what the owner requires and whether that particular doggo can provide it. And this woman has a service dog who has been by her side through thick and thin. Because the woman has a seizure disorder, she requires a service dog so she can go outside without fear for her safety or health. Her dog has already saved her life several times. That’s why she was taken aback when a newly hired VP of HR refused to allow her to bring her service dog with her. What’s the reason? According to the VP, the doggo was too small to be a service dog.

Even from the title, you can tell that there is something wrong with the VP.

We also get an explanation of how the dog helps her in her day-to-day life.

And while she is a smaller breed, she doesn’t need to be large to get her job done.

The new VP of Hr however doesn’t see it that way at all.

It is clear that she is just looking for an excuse.

Because the doggo never misbehaves or anything of the sort.

But she wasn’t going to back down without putting up a fight for her dog.

Her boss chimed in as well to help her throughout the process.

The higher-ups finally listened to what she was saying and quickly made the changes needed.

And while it would have been nice if it was a public apology, at least it was resolved.

It all ended well and the doggo got several treats out of it.

I don’t know about you, but the VP appears to be a moron. It’s not as if their company has a policy against smaller service dogs. She hasn’t seen a smaller breed of service dog, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I’ve never seen a polar bear; does this mean they don’t exist? Her logic is completely illogical, and I am relieved that she was ‘moved’ somewhere else. Not only that, but it’s always nice to see bosses who come to the aid of their employees rather than leave them hanging.

People in the comments were on OP’s side as well.

I have no idea why she was so obsessed with the dog either.

Maybe she really hated dogs? That is the only thing I can think of.
