7 Comics That Depict Scenes From The Harry Potter Books That Were Missing From The Movies

A lot of people are obsessed with the Harry Potter franchise.

From Harry Potter books, movies to the Hogwarts game that has been in production for a few years and for which fans have been waiting with bated breath are all part of this franchise. Even if the movie does not directly include Harry Potter, this franchise has been a mainstay in many households. I know that I love to go back and watch the Harry Potter movies from time to time because they tickle my nostalgia bone and I just feel happy.

And while I think a lot of people will agree with me that the Harry Potter movies were great and that a lot of people enjoyed watching the books come to life, they aren’t perfect either. I know that this is heresy but I haven’t read all the harry Potter books myself but I have watched all of the movies and from what I have heard, they do change a fair bit of things. There isn’t any change that is drastic since the story remains the same but the little moments could not be included in the movie because of time restraints.

So one artist but the name of Katie Knudson took it upon herself to draw the moments from the books and present them in a beautiful art style. Any Harry Potter fan will love these comics so just scroll below to take a look and enjoy.

#1 We all remember the moment in the movie when they won the Quidditch cup.

However, what we didn’t see was Harry kissing Ginny Weasley.

I am pretty sure it was a surprise to a lot of their friends.

And some other love interests weren’t happy either.

However, Hermione was quite happy to see this development.

And so was Ginny’s brother.

#2 Seeing this moment in the movie was heartbreaking.

And it was all Draco’s fault as well.

Hermoine did punch Draco in the face in the movie as well.

But this illustration just hits differently.

It was also quite satisfying seeing as Draco was a jerk.

He did deserve a lot more than he got.

But at least he learned his lesson and ran away.

#3 Luna didn’t have enough screen time in the movies.

I mean Luna was a great character and I would have loved to see her more.

Her tidbits of wisdom were always weird and great.

#4 What happened to Neville was truly horrifying.

But the movies didn’t delve too deep into his backstory.

As it turns out there was more that was in the books that didn’t make it.

His parents apparently stayed with him as ghosts as well.

His mother even gave him something after she passed away.

Honestly, it breaks my heart to read about him.

#5 Did you know that Harry wanted to become an Auror?

Although it isn’t easy and everyone said so.

We all hated Dolores in the movies.

But she was even worse in the books.

We did get a standoff between Dolores and Minerva in the movie but it was different.

Dolores clearly doesn’t want Harry to become an Auror.

But Minerva wasn’t about to let Dolores walk all over her.

Some of these instances were shown in the movies but they were a bit subdued and changed to fit the pace of the movie better. Also, it makes sense since the movies don’t have as much time as a book to set up everything, and sometimes it is necessary to cut out things that add flavor but don’t move the story forward. After all, not every book can be made into a series.

#6 This is also an instance from the book that was excluded from the movies.

Apparently, Harry had a blonde eyebrow because of a transfiguration mishap.

Ad it was when Hermione fought with Ron.

This was also when he had asked Luna to be his date.

We didn’t get a lot of time between Hermione and Ron in the movies.

Ron could be a bit mean at times.

But he was Harry’s best friend at the end of the day.

Luna was with harry at Slughorn’s party.

I am really sad that Luna wasn’t in the movies as much.

As she was always a great character to see on screen.

#7 You didn’t think we would miss the scene with the house elves did you?

Ron was the one who had remembered them.

And he wanted to keep them safe as much as possible.

It was a beautiful scene that was missing from the movies.

And no matter the time, Hermoine was quick to give Ron a kiss.

Harry wasn’t impressed but what could he do anyway?

There might be a war going on but that wouldn’t stop them.

And the best time to proclaim your love is in the middle of a war.
