Restaurant Employee Maliciously Complies With His Manager’s Orders, Family Gets Extra Ice-Cream

Employees don’t get many chances to have fun.

When it comes to people who work in the service industry, they have it tough. They are not only paid minimum wage, but they must also deal with rude customers all day. You’d think that would be enough, but there’s plenty more, especially if you have a bratty manager who wants to lord over you all day and provide no support. I understand that everyone has bad days and that you may snap at someone unintentionally, but this is not professional behavior. This is a daily occurrence for these types of managers. Even in the face of all of this, employees can only smile and bear it. They don’t want to lose their jobs in this economy, after all.

But that is precisely why it is so satisfying to see an employee gain the upper hand and stick it to their boss at times. While this isn’t an elaborate revenge story, and no one was really hurt or learned a lesson, it’s still a fun story to read. After all, it’s just malicious compliance, and I can only hope that the manager learned not to be so snarky and rude the next time an employee asks them a legitimate question, but I’m not sure. What I do know for certain is that this family was pleased with the amount of ice cream they received, so at least some people benefited from this.

Ice cream and malicious compliance in one story? This is going to be sweet.

They simply went up to the counter to get some bowls of ice cream.

The employee was probably new and didn’t know which sized bowl was okay for ice cream.

So he asked his manager as would anyone in this particular position.

When the manager didn’t respond in kind, the employee knew exactly what to do.

He gave the family the biggest salad bowl and that was it.

He not only annoyed the manager with this antic.

But he also ended up making the kids happy which is simply great.

Some people in the comments even share their own similar experiences.

And apparently, a**hole managers exist everywhere in this world.

It is sad to read that this kind of behavior starts to feel normal for many employees.

We also got a few terrible puns which is always a delight.

I have to agree that this would make an interesting band name. I wonder if they need a singer.

As it turns out, some people are just stingy with ice cream.

The title was previously different but that one just didn’t sound right.

I would love to hear this noise as well but sadly it wasn’t caught on camera.

What do you think about the tiny bowls that ice cream is usually served in? Personally, I believe they are absurd. I understand that one should avoid eating too many sweets, but if I’m going to have dessert, I want a proper cup of ice cream, not just a lick. Have you ever been in a situation where you did something to annoy your boss after he or she was rude to you? If so, how did it turn out?
