Everyone requires a break from their work.

Even if you adore your job and don’t mind working around the clock, there are times when we need a break to relax and unwind. After all, there is a limit to how much we can work and we eventually tyre. Taking a 5-minute break every hour isn’t a big deal, and it gives you the energy you need to keep going. However, some higher-ups do not understand this and believe that if they allow it, people will always waste their time.

However, they are perfectly fine with allowing it for smokers. As a result, people who don’t normally smoke begin to do so in order to take a 5-minute break. After all, if your boss won’t let you take a break if you’re not smoking, you’d better start or stay in the office. It seems like things were going well and the manager acted like a decent human being.

However, he did mention that smoke breaks are usually for actual smokers.

So that is when a plan formed in the employee’s mind and he was ready for some malicious compliance.

Thankfully, the sparkler idea worked and he was allowed to take the breaks he wanted.

I believe the employee made the correct decision when he purchased the sparklers. If his manager hadn’t been a decent human being, he might have made a fuss about it, but he didn’t and understood where the employee was coming from. After all, no one needs to develop an addiction just to get some fresh air or to stretch their legs.

Everyone should be treated equally.

Most higher-ups are absolute d*ckheads so it is nice to see managers like the one in the above story.
