Every workplace has its way of doing things, like Casual Fridays or Taco Tuesdays, or maybe even some jokes about colleagues. To have a good team, everyone needs to fit in reasonably. When someone doesn’t like the way things are done, it can create a negative atmosphere. A new coworker might have a valid complaint, like “Why do we have to stand here while our boss makes fun of our shirts all day,” but it might upset people, especially if they express their disagreement loudly. The key is, who knows the job better – someone new or those who’ve been there for years?

1. OP works in a hospital with around 6 to 7 guys in his department and their workplace has a culture of giving nicknames which OP finds cool

OP said these nicknames aren’t offensive at all and one of her colleagues has the name Speedy she got the nickname because OP and other colleagues saw her sprint once, and OP’s chief nickname is The King he got this nickname because he was the youngest chief of any department and the older folk called him boy king. And OP’s name is Gravewalker because he works in the graveyard.
3. A new girl joined OP’s team and she was very against nicknames she found out when someone said involved the grave walker, and now she refuses to call anyone by their nicknames

9. Personally I think there’s nothing inappropriate about it as they don’t use their nicknames in front of patients, it wasn’t that much of a big deal to make the fuss about.
