Father of Two Fed Up Of Parenting Gets Offended After Brother Calls Himself A Dog Dad

Parenting is not an easy task at all and this father took all its wrath.

Parenting is not an easy job. It is a beautiful sensation of finally being a father or mother, but at that moment the parents often forget the wrath that is about to enter their lives. All the costs, the time management failures, and headaches come at once and you really don’t know what to do about all this mess because unfortunately, or should I say, fortunately, there is no button for opting out of this. After all, the mess is their own hard work, sweat, and love. It’s always that one night they all blame.

This is the case with this father of two who is completely fed up with his duties. All the effort and the cause he had to exhaust to raise his children has made him tired of this relationship and he does not want to continue it anymore. Amidst all of this, there is one thing that triggered this Dad beyond imagination. His own 23-year-old brother called himself a dog dad and that made him really mad. What triggered him more is that even his brother’s friends call him dog dad as well.

Ego took a big hit as the Dad turned to Reddit and posed the question in the infamous chamber of Reddit known as “Am I the Asshole?” A company with millions of members waiting for a case to come, eagerly waiting to vote.

1. This sounds so dramatic and really weird to be considered a whole as war topic.

2. Looks like this father of two young children has worked his pants off to survive in this tough world and raise his children simultaneously.

3. If you work that hard to bring up your kids and your brother shows no interest in children…it could hit you a bit.

Let’s see how this Dad dealt with it.

4. Seems fair. His brother probably saw it is not easy to raise children and will effect his path to follow his dreams so decided not to make having children a priority.

Makes total sense to me. People want to achieve in their lives first before settling down and thinking about starting a family. Life is all about joy and excitement. Not everyone wants to exhaust all their quality time so quickly. It’s their own choice.

Weirdly enough, this Dad had a disagreement on his brother having an English bulldog that he gt from a breeder. I wonder why.

5. Ah, so the OPs problem is that he does not like how his brother refers to the bulldog as his child and not his dog.

The role pets play in a human’s life is that of a companion. I don’t see anything wrong in owners calling their pets their children. These children do so much and they fully deserve that label.

6. The rationale Dad provided was that raising actual children is extremely hard compared to raising an animal and that makes him mad.

It feels like this Dad is taking this parenting thing as a huge achievement and has set the standards for efforts and hardships really high. And anyone who considers them a parent with efforts not up to hi par, that’s what triggers him. To be fair though, that sounds so unfair. It’s not their fault you had to go through all that struggle. Perhaps a different strategy would have resulted in a much easier life. Your life, your choice.

7. Ah, the emotional card.

8. And here comes the question, whether they were the AH for getting triggered by “dog dad”.

Here’s what the internet had to say on this matter:

1. Dealt with.

2. OP is being very hypocritical.

3. Another side of the world where grandparents consider the puppies in the house as their grandpuppies.

4. Some suggested they shouldn’t be bred anyway. Their opinion. But adopted one shouldn’t be a problem for anyone.
