Firm Doesn’t Pay Out Bonuses, This Employee Forces It Out And Resigns After Everyone Receives It

Employee Bonus

If bad management still thinks they can be unfair to their employees and can get away with not acknowledging their hard work and efforts, they are very wrong. Things have evolved quite a lot. Employees are much aware of their rights and know exactly how to have them squeezed out of the organization. Management should never make it in the employees’ bad books because they are the main foundation the whole company rests upon and without them, there are bare minimum changes that it will survive for longer than a month.

In today’s story, that is exactly what happened as Reddit user u/InertiasCreep shared his experience on the infamous subreddit “Pro Revenge”. OP shared he was part of the salesforce in a financial firm he worked for and he really was a star performer there. However, when the time came for the company to give out bonuses, they didn’t release them. 80% of the salesforce did not get any bonuses even though the company had had its best year in terms of sales since its inception.

OP decided to not have any of it and stopped working till the company would give out bonuses. His coworkers followed the way. Ultimately with enough pressure put by OP on senior management and with them knowing how crucial OP is for high sales generation, they had to release the bonuses. A soon as OP received his check, he then played his last card which ended up shocking everybody.

To know how it all went down and what OP did at the end is for you guys to read. Scroll down below to enjoy!

1. The concept of annual meetings is really good. Everyone gets to know about the company, where it stands, and where it must go in the future.

2. The time for bonuses is arriving and I can bet the hardworking employees would be really excited but theirs is confirmed.

This also tells us that OP likes to outperform himself the way he is confidently speaking about his personal efforts and achievements.

3. A slam dunk year in logic should mean heavy-duty bonuses.

4. But unfortunately when June came, 80% of the sales force did not get any bonus at all. OP didn’t get his bonus either.

5. Everyone was angry and the anger was justified. Especially when workers got to know their supervisors all got their bonuses, as much as they wanted.

6. Many supervisors refused to take their bonuses siding with their subordinates but OP’s supervisor took it. And he got a bad reaction.

7. To protest, workers stopped working and so did OP. He stopped selling just like all the others who didn’t get their bonuses.

8. OP would only begin working again when the boss would hand him his deserved bonus.

9. The regional sales manager tried to make some attempts to get OP to start working again.

10. OP did simple math and let the regional manager know how much the company would be suffering if he didn’t work. It would be much easy on everyone if they just simply pay out the bonuses.

No, there is no way to come up with a defensive response to that. I like that OP knows his absolute worth and the value he is actively adding to the business he works for. Unfortunately, the management doesn’t know it and that is why they won’t see it coming if they lose him just because they didn’t pay him a deserved bonus.

Let’s see how things proceed from this point. Scroll down below to continue reading!

11. He really knows how to put pressure. For their rights, everyone should know how to do it.

12. One day, as employees continued to leave, OP got told to meet the national sales manager.

13. The national manager agreed to pay OP’s bonus and he again said he would start working as soon as he received the check.

14. The pressure did it. The entire salesforce was going to get their bonuses.

15. Special protocol…OP deserves it for the effort he made to have the bonuses released for the entire sales force.

16. The next day just as the national manager handed OP his bonus, OP in return handed him his resignation with thanks. I did not see that coming.

17. Not only did OP resign, he also asked to be paid in monetary terms for the vacation time he did not use.

18. OP and the other coworkers who resigned ended up having a great time while the company saw a major reduction in sales because the best talent had left.
