According to therapist Jacy Rob, LPC, there are subtle signs to watch out for that may indicate your “friends” aren’t genuinely looking out for you. Jacy recently initiated a discussion on X, shedding light on behaviors typical of fake friends. If your friend does any of the things you just read or the things you are about to read, do not call them a friend anymore. They are no better than your worst enemy. Their sole purpose is to take you down to their level and then abandon you. I really don’t understand the motivation behind these motives, but some “friends” just can’t stand you. In such a case, quietly parting ways is what I believe should be the best strategy to adopt. Not for an extra second do they deserve your love, trust, and attention.
