Guy Calls Out Sexist Boss For Slut Shaming His Co-Worker’s LinkedIn Photo

This guy slammed his boss for an insensitive and completely inappropriate situation involving “slut shaming” his coworker’s LinkedIn photo. I’m not sure what this boss was thinking when they let that kind of nonsense into the workplace, but this guy’s rant does a good job of deconstructing why it was so messed up.

So keep on scrolling down below to know what really caused this blast. Make sure you watch it till the end otherwise, you are not going to get the whole point here. Good Luck.

1. That’s really absurd of him to judge someone by looking at their photo?

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs Thread] My boss made a comment today along the line of "I don't get how women can complain about how they get treated when they do shit like this." I turned around and to see what he talking about, and he was looking at a thumbnail of a profile pic of a woman on LinkedIn.

2. He must be in an awkward situation

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs She was a nice looking woman - it was head and shoulders shot of her wearing a grey t-shirt and smiling at the camera. It was as generic as you could get, which is what LinkedIn likes for profile pictures. I was totally baffled and said "Shit like... what?"

3. That’s what it takes to judge someone “slutty pictures”?

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs He clicked on it to open it full-size, like he thought I just wasn't seeing it well enough and said "This!" I said "Taking selfies?" He said "Taking selfies like THAT." as still absolutely fucking lost, asked him to explain. He said "Just, like, slutty pictures." II

4. I mean what’s wrong in that? And what’s so inappropriate about her?

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs "Slutty" is obviously a dumb af hypermisogynistic construct, but let me repeat it was a headshot of a woman wearing a gray t-shirt. The only skin on her you could see was her face and collarbones. I was STILL LOST and he was getting annoyed like I was being deliberately dumb

5. Clearly the boss needs to learn some ethics to even be a boss

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs I was getting annoyed right back, so I told him to just explain what he meant. He talked for a minute about how if you're going to post pictures like that, you deserve what you get. I was incredulous and reiterated to him that it was literally just a picture of a smiling face.

6. Exactly, that’s also my question.

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs We had this go round for a few minutes - him going come on, you know what I mean, me going no, I literally don't Eventually, I told him to define the word "slutty". He said "way over the top sexy and obviously down to fuck." I asked him what about that picture said that him

7. I feel sad for that boss

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs After going in circles for about minutes he finally goes, "Well, she's insanely hot." There it was.

8. No one deserve harassment like this

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs This man saw a THUMBNAIL of a picture of an attractive woman, and decided that not only was she a "slut" but that her presumed "behavior" meant she deserved any harassment or assault she experienced - and felt this strongly enough to say it out loud, unprompted, and AT WORK

9. That’s all her mistake? I mean for god sake man.

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs A woman has her smiling face on her profile. A man she has never met sees it and instantly feels rage and disgust. He believes she invites and deserves harrassment/assault. All because she dared to be attractive in a public space.

10. It just felt

Text - Sawyer Follow @sswyrs @men: Don't you ever ask women why they're afraid again

This boss clearly needs to learn some ethics to even exist in society. No one has a right to call anyone a slut, I mean no one period. Seriously is that what it takes to call someone slut? If she is an attractive woman or if she has posted a photo in which she is smiling does that make her a slut? No people need to fix their sick minds, women are not materials they are human too and sadly a lot of people have to go through this especially women. Respect is the only element that everybody requires and deserves and we need to understand this. Moreover, who are we to judge someone? Why can’t we be settled with our own lives rather than judging others?

The saddest part is this that idiot boss judged her and call her that only by seeing her picture in which she was doing nothing wrong but smiling, does that make her a slut? No people need to educate themselves, and only then they would deserve to live in a society.
