Working in a bakery can be a sweet and rewarding job, but not when you have to deal with a coworker who doesn’t care about hygiene or customer satisfaction. That’s what happened to a 15-year-old boy who posted his dilemma on Reddit, asking if he was the a$$hole for telling his coworker to take her gloves off. The gloves in question were not the ones used for handling food, but the ones used for touching money and other dirty things. The boy noticed that his coworker was wearing the same pair of gloves for both tasks, without changing them or washing her hands. He confronted her about this, saying that it was unsanitary and gross. The coworker got really angry and her reaction confused and hurt OP. Her reaction made him rethink his position wondering if he really did do something wrong.

2. OP works at a bakery and noticed a senior coworker always wears gloves.
3. The standard practice to maintain hygiene is to use single-use tissue papers and throw them away after every task is complete. But this coworker puts on gloves at the start of her shift and does everything with them on.
4. She uses the same gloves to touch bakery items and then the money, the POS system, and then the bakery items again.
5. This is unsafe practice and everyone knows about it but no one tells the coworker to stop doing that.
6. That is actually so gross.
7. OP one time politely confronted his coworker about her way of working.

You know what she is doing is wrong, it can get customers sick. She knows it, everyone at the bakery knows it, the reader knows it but still she won’t stop doing it. And that is because no one at the bakery told her to stop wearing the same gloves for everything.This is what entitled her.

9. When OP persisted, she changed her gloves but there was no sign of realization observed in her behavior.
10. She put on new gloves and proceeds to handle everything the same way.
11. The coworker decided to whitewash everyone against OP as on his next shift he got ignored by everyone on board.

14. Well she was there 3 months before OP started. Surely the supervisor must have noticed this in the 9-month timeframe. If action was to be taken, it would have already been taken.
