As Hurricane Dorian approached Florida, many residents were scrambling to secure their homes and protect their families. For one resident living in an active construction zone, however, the potential danger was not only from the storm but from the negligent actions of the builder and construction manager.
Despite promises from the builder to secure construction materials and empty dumpsters, the OP found that no action had been taken as the storm approached. After repeated attempts to contact the builder and construction manager went unanswered, the OP reached out to the property manager, only to be told that no further action would be taken.
Frustrated and scared for her family’s safety, the OP decided to take matters into her own hands. She called the property manager back and threatened to contact every local news station to report the dangerous conditions in the development. She also made it clear that if anything on her property was damaged or if anyone in her family was hurt, she would sue.
