Living in the countryside, dining options are limited, and a trip to a non-‘homestyle’ restaurant is a 20-minute drive. So when her husband arrived home with their order, they eagerly unpacked the bag only to find that they had received two soups, two salads, one steak, and an absurdly large container of just fried rice – missing one of the $30 filet hibachi plates they had ordered.
While it may not have been the end of the world, it certainly wasn’t what they had paid for. After calling the restaurant and requesting a refund for the missing steak, the woman on the other end of the line suggested that they come in to receive a free steak. However, as OP explained that it would be inconvenient and delay dinner, she insisted that a refund was impossible.
