1. OP is a hardworking dedicated person who is just trying to make a good living out of his job, let’s see what happened

Text - r/MaliciousCompliance - Posted by u/CleverNamePodcast 1 day ago Sorry I'm not a courier ос м I work for a large shipping company in Canada. I work early in the morning loading trucks but as needed would go out and deliver packages. At first it was here and there but it soon became normal that after my regularly scheduled shift I would go out and deliver. This wasn't a requirement of my job, I was basically doing it as a favor because it looks really bad on the managers to have packages go

2. Such a naive boss to say that you aren’t a courier

Text - at a different depot slipped and hurt himself while out delivering. This caused a new initiative to force all drivers to wear super slip proof boots that have glass embedded in them. These run about 250 bucks. All of the drivers received vouchers that would cover the cost because they are requirements of doing the job. When I went to the manager to ask if I would be getting a voucher. He replied with "no sorry you're not a courier" and walked away. I went and told the other employees that

3. Why would he buy that? He even delivered goods for a year although it wasn’t in his job description, people can be so selfish.

Text - The next day, as usual after my shift the manager started telling me the things I would be delivering that day. I waited for him to finish and responded with "sorry I'm not a courier". He looked very confused, like he didn't remember our conversation from the day before. So I explained that I wasn't going to go out delivering because I wouldn't have the proper safety equipment. He had that "I just smelt a fart face" and just looked at me for a second. He said "if you just work a few extra

4. Sorry boss I’m not a courier

Text - know what to say so we just stared at each other for a minute. I eventually replied, sorta laughing because of how ridiculous this is "so you want me to work without the safety equipment you made mandatory untill I can afford to buy it for myself?" He scoffed at me like a 14 year old girl and walked away without an answer. A few others followed suit and when the managers ask them to go out delivering after their shifts they replied with "sorry I'm not a courier".

5. We are happy to know about your safety boots lol

Text - After all was said and done they had so many left over packages, a few companies started dropping contracts (which directly affects the managers end of year bonuses). They ended up having to give promotion to a lot the workers that were doing double work for half the pay, to cover all the backlog. So we all ended up getting paid more to do less and best of all we finally got our safety boots lol.

People can be so selfish that all they want is things to be done their way, they don’t care about if you live or not. The Redditor commented so accurately that you have to be careful when going above and beyond. You never have to underestimate yourself or let someone exploit you. Workplace organizations need to think that employees are the backbone of every organization and if you don’t let your employee be satisfied with their job or if you treat them badly it’s gonna turn more bad for your business because employees are the backbone of every business or business organization.

Apparently boss got what he deserved and due to the OP, everyone got their bonuses so we actually are very happy to know that. Remember never to let anyone exploit you.
