If two people are deciding to bring a baby into this world, they should be financially responsible for the baby.
If you cannot pay for a baby and do not want to be held accountable for him/her, it’s better not to bring him/her into this world. A guy shared with the Reddit community that her girlfriend was pregnant with someone else’s baby. So, when the baby was born, OP didn’t sign the papers and didn’t pay for it and made it clear to his girlfriend that he would not be held financially accountable for the baby. OP told his girlfriend to ask the baby’s father for the finances but she refused because she didn’t want to ruin her friendship with the guy.
OP’s girlfriend asked OP to help her with the baby formula and OP said “no” and asked her to talk to the baby’s father. She went and asked the baby’s father, he helped her with a few thousand dollars but when her girlfriend learned about it, she broke up with him and the baby’s father thinks that they have ruined his life. OP should not be held financially accountable for the baby because if they ever break up, he would be held accountable for the baby which is not his. Baby’s father is wrong for telling OP’s girlfriend not to contact him again. It is his baby and his responsibility. But if OP really loves his girlfriend and wants to be the father of the baby, then he should adopt the baby and give him/her the love of a father.
