HOA Doesn’t Tip On Massive Pizza Order, Gets Whole Neighborhood Blacklisted

To some, the HOA is a mark of quality, a seal of assurance that you’re living in a “proper” neighborhood, whatever that’s supposed to mean. But for many, it’s just an organization where your most power-hungry neighbors who have the most fascist ideas about what proper garbage can placement is and the freest time to argue about it get to stretch out their bullying legs and tell fellow adults that they can’t paint their house a certain shade of gray.

In this instance, a neighborhood HOA placed an enormous pizza order and, guess what? Take that, pizza. Poor HOA. Bad!

1. OP and his wife were struggling financially so she wanted him to take a job and persuaded him to apply for something

Ok, so, we're gonna set the way-back machine to circa 2000 on this one...gas is cheap, cell phones were small, and my Ford Escort got amazing gas mileage. As the (now) ex-wife and I were struggling with our bills, she decided that the easiest thing (for her) was for me to get a 2nd job to try to catch up and then get

2. OP settled into his longest working hour routine and was doing his job when one Saturday he was occupied for a hit or miss tip, an HOA was throwing a pizza party

Font - Fast-forward a couple of months, and I have settled into my mind-numbing routine of working 60-70 hours a week at two jobs. On this particular day, I was scheduled to work on Saturday, which was hit-or-miss for tips. You see, our delivery area was very nouveau riche, combined with scattered groups of Florida rednecks. You would have a gated community with McMansions and BMWS right next to a trailer park. Oddly enough, the smaller the house and cheaper the car, the bigger the tip...which f

3. The HOA ordered tons of pizzas and it got rounds to get the whole order delivered, the bill was in hundred dollars and so the manager rounded the bill to give them the tip

Font - being sold, or moving the HOA from the developer to the board, or something. Anyway, they ordered a TON of pizza. So much so that the manager had scheduled extra kitchen staff and had them show up an hour early just for this one order. He even gave them a discount on the pizza, since they ordered so much. There were so many pies that it took myself and another driver two trips apiece to deliver it all. When we got the last boxes of pizza delivered, the manager wrote a check for the total.

4. But they got to know that the tip was 87 cents only to which the manager went furious and could not believe OP. Later he called the HOA and bashed her for stooping too low after they gave her a discount. He gave $20 tip to everyone of the drivers.

Font - So, I left, and went back to the store. The manager asked me how much of a tip that I got, to which I replied "87 cents". He didn't believe me, so I showed him the check. He then asked me if I was messing with him, and if they had given me a cash tip. "Nope!" He. Went. OFF! He walked over to the phone, called the manager of the HOA, cussed her out for not tipping his drivers, AFTER he had discounted the order and scheduled extra staff just for her order, and told her that he was entering

Font - Fanciestpony · 11 mo. ago I used to work at a cash only, fancy, sit down pizzeria and so many people would order bottles of wine and dessert and then be like "sorry, didn't bring enough cash" as their excuse to not tip. Glad your boss helped course correct!

6. Well, this person also has a valid point but the first line explains the dead horse thing

Font - dreznu · 11 mo. ago I know this is a dead horse on here, but as someone from a non-tipping-culture country, this is so weird. "How dare you not pay my employees for me?!" - and then he's the good guy for paying $40 as a one- time exception.

7. This is hilarious

Human body - trey74 · 11 mo. ago I love it when you get to fire a customer, or a whole neighborhood of them in this example. :-)

8. Worst tipper ever

Font - MidsommarSolution - 11 mo. ago My mom isn't crazy rich but she's doing all right. Worst. Tipper. Ever. She's legit asked if a $2 is okay on a $100+ meal with 7 people at the table.

Guess we all can relate to this as we meet such kinds of people every day in our lives. People can stoop very low and you would never know. Tell us in the comment section what you feel about the HOA. And any comments on the manager? Stay tuned for more content.
