Family drama is part of normal life for many individuals. Some family dramas can be funny while others can be very serious. So one should be able to adequately handle them to preserve the balance and harmony of the family. It is commonly seen nowadays that conflict regarding one pet can arise among family members. The same happened with our OP u/snapeyaoilover, when one fine day, she suddenly found her daughter’s pet hamsters and their cage drenched in water and in utter chaos. Upon examining the environment and the circumstances, her husband’s nephews were the prime suspects but the boys refused to confess upon asking. So what did the OP do in such a situation?

1. OP questions whether is she an AH for punishing his husband’s nephews who ruined their pet hamsters.

OP just tried to discipline the boys a little over what dreadful they did to the hamsters and for lying to her. But unfortunately, her sister-in-law and her husband didn’t like her reprimanding their children and misunderstood her stance. They even tried to include the other family members to pick sides too. Fortunately, unlike them, the mother-in-law understood the seriousness of the boys’ act because if the OP came down a bit late, the consequences of their act could be devastating.
