Trust me, you do not want to face a Karen. They are an employee’s worst nightmare. If you work in the service industry and you see a Karen approaching you, you already start sweating with anxiety. If you have never faced a Karen in real life, consider yourself lucky. If you don’t know what a Karen is, allow me to explain. A Karen is usually a middle-aged white woman with a short blonde bob haircut. She is extremely loud, annoying, and rude. Karens are never happy with anything. Karen is an idea. So she doesn’t have to be middle-aged or blonde. You can tell if someone is a Karen at heart by their behaviour. Honestly, dealing with them in real life is just scary.
This woman on Reddit shared her friend’s story of having to do a Karen’s hair in her hair salon. Things did not turn out as Karen had planned, so she threw an absolute fit. Scroll down below to read the whole story:
So the girl who worked at a very upscale salon knew about a client who was an absolute nightmare. The client had made three hairdressers cry in the past.
The client wasn’t a natural blonde but she would lie to everyone that she is, which is why she had to get her hair dyed before her natural roots started showing.
Karen shows up at the salon with jet black hair one day and demands to have them dyed champagne blonde the very same day.
The woman explained to her that it is a long process and shouldn’t be done in one go because it would cause her hair to fry and fall off.
Karen refuses to listen and demands that her hair should be blonde by the end of the day. So the friend does exactly that.
Her hair fried and fell off, exactly what the woman had warned her about. Karen threw a fit, so the woman said she will give her a free haircut to make it look better.
And the woman gave her the classic Karen haircut: an angled bob.
After Karen called the manager, nobody took her side because she asked for it. She also got dumped later by her boyfriend because of the length of her hair.
Even though I feel bad that she lost all of her hair, she asked for it. So no one is to blame here but herself. She should consider this as a new beginning. She now has new hair, she lost her terrible boyfriend, and she knows she should listen to experts now. Maybe she should start over and stop lying to people about her hair, and be nicer to people who are just helping her out. I hope she learned her lesson this time.
