Despite settling on a name for both parents to be liked and informing their families of their decision, the OP’s mother expressed dissatisfaction, insisting that at least one person in each generation should bear a family name.

The OP, however, admitted to never liking the proposed family name and remained steadfast in their decision. This disagreement continued as the OP stood firm, unwilling to compromise on their choice.
