Parenting was never going to be an easy task to take over.
That loud cry of a child after a long wait through the pregnancy period is absolute bliss to the ears of both the mother and father of a newborn. Nothing feels crazier than the little cries, expressions, laughs, churns, and turns, of that tiny creature that came into the world. But as the rule of life states, it is never fun and games forever. You have to strive to achieve what you wish to achieve. In this example, striving is an analogy for parenting.
Parenting is not an easy task at all. Upbringing is no joke. You really have to give it your everything to get through those sleepless nights, stressful days, heavy multitasking. And you do all that, as parents, to bring up your little one to be the best human in the world. Now when it comes to parenting styles, we are well aware of the fact that both mother and father like to use a different strategy. Let’s just say the mother’s strategies are more collected and calculated whereas the fathers like to wing it often. You could pick a side but the reality is, a perfect upbringing is not possible without the combination of two. It is that odd combination of father wrestling with his toddler and mother seeing mittens, is that creates the best of children.
But believe it or not, there does lie around a factor of expectation in our society which sort of seems unfair, but it is a subjective matter. The expectation I am talking about here is regarding both mother and father when it comes to parenting. The social order is that people expect absolute perfection when it’s the mother performing the upbringing duties and when it comes to the father’s they’re just allowed a cushion. That is exactly what this mother of two brought up, why do these double standards exist in society. Why can’t there be no expectations at all and let them be the same?
Mary Catherine Starr is a USA-based artist who decided to showcase this condition of inequality through their art. This mother of two decided to illustrate, beautifully, the double standards of society when it comes to parenting. She posted her amazing work on her Instagram account. With over 36,000 followers, the mother has an amazing fan following.

Woah! Hold on a minute, this is kinda true. I have seen so many people side with the Dad’s way of parenting even though they put the least amount of effort possible. The poor mother’s efforts go unnoticed as all her hard work takes place behind the curtain.
