Some people have grown to hate cats because of their upbringing. It might be because of their childhood experiences with small Dachsunds that would definitely perish at the paws of the primmest and proper house cat that their parents had some inexplicable animosity for cats.
However, out of nowhere, a non-cat person finds a black cat in their backyard and decides to name it. The person then realizes that they are obviously becoming attached to this cat. Then, all of a sudden, you discover the litter of five or six kittens that the cat had in our compost bin. An escape from the dreary, chilly fall weather in a warm, stinking place.
As you look for a home for the rest of the litter, you find yourself adopting the smallest member of the bunch and giving it a name. It’s also possible that you grew to love cats since your boyfriend owns two gregarious, fluffy Maine Coons. Once you start taking care of these cats, you soon adopt two more that were previously living in your backyard.
