We take so many things for granted, especially the basic five senses that we have. We assume those to be a part of normal function and we cannot begin to imagine what life would be like without those senses. Being empathetic and understanding towards the differently-abled is so important and it can be super endearing when we actually end up interacting with them on a personal level.
Seeing people who are visually or auditorily impaired navigate through life is an eye-opening experience for sure and it’s fascinating to see the tiny basic differences that these people have with most of us. However, at times it can be very wholesome as some exchanges are just so pure! That hilarious and adorable moment when the professor realizes his student can’t see in the dark is just one example of living life without sight!
We’ve rounded up a few examples of life without sight or sound and how these people navigate through life by sharing some interesting stories that have been shared on Tumblr. These are truly wholesome and will no doubt make you smile! So let’s start scrolling and you’ll see what we mean.
1. That’s SO wholesome
That’s hilarious yet it’s such a beautiful lesson. At every point of your life, you will learn new lessons and your perspectives are going to define you. So, you shall always be prepared to learn these great lessons!
2. Learning fun facts about herself!
This was surely another masterpiece and such a heartwarming story! Can you even begin to imagine your life being a deaf person? We are certain that you can’t. You won’t be able to listen to the music, the sound of the rain, the voices of your loved ones… it’s so painful that we can’t even imagine yet we just take all of these things for granted, don’t we?
These two endearing stories make it clear that people who are deaf and blind live very different lives from the rest of the world. They may constantly learn new things about themselves and try to think from the perspective of others who may not suffer from the same impairment as they do. Since they experience life so differently, what’s normal for them, may be new and endearing for us, and because of this, these interactions shed so much light on small things that we may never have noticed! We need to start giving value to the little things in life and should always be thankful for the things we have in our lives rather than being sad over the things we don’t.
