Your cat is your family.
And just like your family, you can have some ups and downs with them. It is a natural thing. Cats are naturally very moody, so things always run the way they want. If they feel playful, they will entertain you for hours. If they want to be petty, they will make your life miserable. When they are asleep and unbothered, there is peace and quiet in your life too. Sometimes these little furballs make their way into your life themselves, so it is really the cat that chooses the human. And once they choose you, get ready for a rollercoaster ride.
These people on Reddit posted about their lives as cat owners. Some of them went through tragedies, some had traumatic pasts, but they all show that life with a cat is filled with ups and downs. So scroll down below to see the posts:

“It’s the right thing to do in my opinion if you want a pet! The only bad thing is that a street abandoned animal like mine came with a ton of health issues that are not under control and separation anxiety because probably never felt safe before being rescued off the streets by the rescue association 🙁 But otherwise is an absolutely rewarding thing to do and I really recommend rescue animals if you’re patient and willing to nurture a probably sad, scared animal <3”

We only have a limited time with our furry friends and we should use this time bonding with them and cherish every single minute of it. Because sadly, cats have smaller lifespans than us and they will most probably pass away during our lifetime. So pick up your little furball and give it some cuddles while you still can.
“My 18-year-old cat, Oscar, just experienced his first home move (across the country). Wasn’t sure if he would make it, but he seems to be doing just fine”

“She was a stray when we found her. Once she got settled indoors, she would randomly leave for a day or 2 and come back, for years. Sometimes a little beat up from whatever action she ran into in the streets lol. But she would always come back. In other words, she was definitely a angel in the house & a gangsta in the streets lol.”

“His name was Cookie. He spent most of his time sleeping outside in the grass or on somebody’s lap. He loved rolling around in the dirt and playing in boxes. He was the most perfect cat and always seemed to know when you were feeling down. I’m extremely sad but I’m so grateful to have had him in my life.”
